Rivals will STUTTER, just like other UE5 games on PC!
Reading through the patch notes for the latest AMD GPU drivers 24.12.1 and I find this in the known issues section:
Intermittent stutter may be observed while playing Marvel Rivals when AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3 frame generation is enabled. Users experiencing this issue are recommended to disable AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3 frame generation in the per-game settings as a temporary workaround.
Epic Games just being unbelievably lazy at this point instead of actually fixing their own engine issue! The same kind of stuttering plagues other UE5 games like Silent Hill 2 Remake and especially The First Descendant, since it's a more action-packed online title.
I highly doubt "disabling frame generation" will fix the stuttering, as it surely didn't fix it in TFD either.
I also wonder what version of FSR 3 did the devs implement in Rivals? For their own sake, I hope it's not 3.0-- but 3.1 at the very least!

Seems like their focus is consoles over PC.

my rtx 2060 laptop seems to run it fine so far. But I understand what you mean, UE5 is just... Ugh

if you guys are running intel cpus then you should probably investigate the stability issues with those

It's not AMD, I'm using an RTX 3070 and it's doing the same stutter he's describing. It is something with the game engine. Like OP said, there are many other UE5 games that demonstrate the same problems. Something Epic themselves needs to fix.

bro the stutter is so jank

Every UE5 game I've ever played has had ass performance.

do you run a 13th or 14th gen intel CPU? they have an instability in their factory settings that doesn't play nice with DX12 or UE5 that can be addressed on the software level

All two of them?

Yeah, sadly all UE games do this. That's why I'm not buying anymore UE games. Lots of games been doing this lately, even one's that aren't using Unreal.

The game literally precaches its shaders on first start up. There are loading screens at the beginning of matches. I do not have frame drops. Therefore, the only possible explanation is that you are using subpar hardware.

And of course you used the "I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ argument but I still want to 'win' because I'm a fatherless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" clown.

I said it was also assets loading. I played plenty of games that do shader compilation but still have tiny stutters when observed through frame time graphs. Even people with the newest hardware are complaining. But then again I don't expect anything intelligent from a person who likes Overwatch but with Marvel characters. The only thing subpar is this game and it's engine. It will be dead within 3-6 months.
Post your specs, ♥♥♥♥♥.

Engine is trash. Even a 4090 was in here complaining about stuttering. There's no argument needed because of all the evidence is in this thread, from multiple configurations. I haven't even tried this game yet, chances are I probably won't. It's literally Overwatch. But here's my specs. 12700k and an RTX 3080.
