Someone already did. FFXIV killed WoW ages ago. Overwatch, Diablo, and WoW will still have their loyal fanbase no matter how dead the games are.

I have had the Name MarvelRivals in Blizzard\Overwatch2 for about 45 days now.
Many have said "Awesome can't wait for the game".

But many more stated they aren't leaving OW.

How about we just enjoy the games we want to play, and not loose sleep over things that really don't matter.

Diablo killed itself with an update shortly after release, haven't been back since.

OW is killing itself with Crappy Map releases and hacking that has become much much worse in the last year.

And being an OLD MMO player from the days of MUDDs.

MMOs are already Dead, no need for a killer.

Blizzard sticking a 2 on the end of Overwatch already killed a lot of the player base. Currently the hacking ( if you say you hardy see any you don't know what to look for ) is worse than TF2 is currently. They are doing it to themselves. I've heard from quite a few they're playing until Rivals releases. As long as Rivals fills that itch better than Oversight

Marvel Rivals doesn't need OW dead to succeed. They both will have a strong standing in the hero shooter genre. Competition in this space will make both games better over time. You don't want complacency, you want the devs to stay hungry for players, because the updates will reflect that in a positive way. I'm excited to play Marvel Rivals, but I'm also excited about the future of OW2 as a result.

Wow has way more players than final fantasy and its not even close both classic wow and regular maintain player counts above all of final fantasy there is not an mmo that has even come close to the powerhouse over the industry that is wow
