I don't think it has been officially addressed, but they are competing with overwatch, so you can expect skins and battle pass to be their revenue stream. BP is usually good value but $20-30 skins is the controversy usually. Fortunately, they aren't selling heroes.

Probably just like Overwatch 2...real money to buy ingame currency to purchase the most desirable (legendary) skins. purchasing battlepass probably contains the opportunity to unlock some skins.

It's definitely going to be an in game type of currency that you have to spend real money to get. There may be ways to earn that currency through stuff like the battle pass. They said in a video that everything is going to be reasonably priced, so i doubt they'll be nearly as expensive as Overwatch skins.

My only hope is that they are more reasonably priced. I get it's free to play, and it's all cosmetics so it largely isn't needed or matter, but if I do feel like wanting to pay something to support the devs and the game, it'd be nice if it didn't feel like the pixels cost an arm and a leg like Overwatch last I checked.

Yeah, cause Warframe, Overwatch, Path of Exile, and a variety of others were clearly dead on arrival too. Not a great thought there pal.

its more than 24 dollars apparently 100 dollars doesnt even get you 6500, so its 2x as expensive as what i said, like 40 dollars for 1 skin. the level of cope accepting this awful pricing is just pathetic

They are cosmetics. They aren't needed to play and enjoy the game. Dead on arrival implies the game isn't going to be enjoyable or playable, which if that happens it'll have nothing to do with skins and how much they cost.
You're thinking about this in an ass backwards kind of way. Pricing sucks, ok. I won't buy any skins and just play and enjoy it.
Licensed games often have a premium as well because every skin and every hero requires a kickback to marvel so it feels like you pay 30% more. You see this in retail prices for star wars outlaws and other big name licensed games. I remember reading how much Spider-man had to make before it turned a profit on playstation just because of the licensing. It's not an excuse I'm making but there will be evidence of this I'm sure.

100 dollars = 6500 at 2400 for wolverine skin, need a calculated to show how much they are ripping you off
Jackal Dec 3, 2024 @ 5:08pm
so 65 per 1 dollar. 36 dollars and 92 cents for 1 wolverine skin

It's so easy to not buy skins, what cope are you talking about? Cosmetics =/= gameplay. Lol. OW2 bot is botting.
Jackal Dec 3, 2024 @ 5:38pm
cope is everyone being fine with outrageous prices, the devs in full damage control mode saying the shop isn't final 2 days before launch lol
Whipped Cream Dec 3, 2024 @ 6:28pm
Its a F2P game i would be surprised if there wasn't some skins or a battlepass because otherwise the game would make no money. During the open beta all the skins where free through in game currency but i guess in 2 days we will find out.
I could see them applying a launch discount and then later lifting that sale. (laughs in marketing :sider:)
