Just because you don't see the value in buying a nice monitor doesn't mean everyone else feels the same. I just purchased my second one.. First was an Alienware, and this is an even larger G9. Will never go back. The overwhelmingly majority of games I've played support this resolution. When you get into competitive things like Valorant and Marvel Rivals, the aspect ratio is not always supported.
And even if the aspect ratio is not supported, you just get black bars on the side. And ultrawide aside the g9 is 1440p OLED 240hz, which is fantastic. Amazing for movies as well, no matter how large the aspect ratio it will never have black bars on the top/bottom. AND it's great for productivity. I feel like the only reason they aren't more popular is purely price. They're amazing to use.
Grand theft auto V and Red dead 2 are the only games that I've found that just flat out don't work on this monitor unless I specifically set the monitor itself up to be 16:9 in its own on screen settings. Something about the engine, refuses to not be stretched 32:9 aspect ratio, even though they work on triple monitor setups just fine. I guess they actually coded them for triplehead because that was somewhat popular when those games were coming out, now most triplehead users are g9 users.
Ultrawide group on reddit has over 223k members and it's top 1% ranked by size, also not everyone is using reddit. There are way way more ultrawide users. Flipping the finger towards ultrawide users, cuz they aren't the "Majority" is just inhuman.
If they think 32:9 is a "uncompetitive" then pls also limit refresh rate to max 60FPS so the people with faster refresh rate can't "chat" too.
Same with pro mouse. Same with headset, everyone should play mono speakers only.
