Always Online required
Since I apparently can't review a game after refunding it I figured I'd just mention it in a comment.

Bought some games prior to storm Milton hitting so I'd have something to do when power inevitably goes out, since I can keep my PC running with my generator.

Shockingly didn't lose power this time, but lost Internet along with everyone in my area of Florida. Figure no prob, I got this game to play.

Or not.

This single player game doesn't work without an active Internet connection. At all.

Reached out to Customer Service and they told me it doesn't work without Internet "because of the way it's designed". I...I just can't. Suffice it to say it's refunded, I don't understand why developers do this.

In browsing the threads I see this mentioned in a few places, but sadly I didn't realize prior to the storm that this should be a necessary thing to check for a single player game, but I guess I'll add it to my checklist for next time.

Just my two cents. LLAP I guess.

I'm in the same boat. I would totally buy this but the always online aspect is a deal killer for me.

Personally, I haven’t had a problem with this as this was always the case with the game when it was on iOS, so absolutely nothing has changed with the game in that respect. One way to get around it has been to play the game via Steam Link on my phone. I have an old computer at home that I leave running with the game active. I can connect and play anytime via Steam Link and the game plays much like it did on iOS. Perfectly fine if this doesn’t work for you and I’m certainly not condemning anyone for their preferences. Just letting you all know about my experience.

Thanks for mentioning this. I would have bought it if not for the always online requirement. Apparently the console versions are standalone and don't require internet at all. So strange that only the PC version does. Maybe I'll pick it up for Switch instead.
