BUG: When I start the game all I see is a black screen

literally every time I launch the game it's just a black screen with audio. It seems like I can interact with the menu buttons too but the screen stays black no matter what. I literally have no idea why this is happening and don't see anyone else having the same issue...

I have an Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop.
It has an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H,
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU
16GB of RAM

same here. uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix the issue. also, after verifying integrity of game files it says "all 0 files successfully validated"

Edit: i managed to press play and eventually it started, but when the game is unpaused it uses 95% of my cpu

Just to make sure... Is everyone experiencing the black screen or just stuck on "Loading..."? I think those are two different issues.

i have also a problem where i start the game and my whole pc frozes in the first loding screen of the game, it happens about 90% times i run the game. I have managed to run it two times but after 40 mins more or less the my whole pc frozes again.

I am having the issue where I am just stuck on loading. I left my laptop alone for about 10 minutes and it made no progress. When I relaunched the game, it gave an error stating "Could not define "x"".

i get stuck on loading but not the define x thing when relaunched it just gets stuck oon loading agian

Hello! I've now deployed a hotfix that should resolve some of the "stuck on 'Loading...'" issues. I have also added a button in the bottom left corner during loading that says "Open Debug Console". If you're still having issues, please press it and report back what the console says in order for me to debug it further. Thank you!

The error message I am seeing now is "Uncaught (in promise) Error: Could not auto-detect a suitable renderer." I did manage to get the game to start one time, but I was running at around 4.2 FPS, and in the pause menu was getting around 160 FPS.

Ok, that's very interesting. Thank you very much! For some reason it refuses to detect your GPU. Never actually seen that before. Also, the fact that you only got 4 FPS with such good specs tells me that it didn't use your GPU at all. Do you get the same error on both the Steam and Itch versions? And what happens if you try different browsers on the Itch version?

In my case, when I open the game, the screen freezes for two to three seconds, then when I click on the taskbar, the screen goes black, when the screen goes black, I right-click, the screen turns white, the mouse starts spinning in circles, and then the game process ends .It is useless to restart the computer and reinstall and verify that the files are complete.(machine translation may not be accurate)
