Potential Crash Fix: Disable Overlay GPU Flags

Lantto added a --sandustry-no-overlay-gpu-flags launch option (set it under Steam > right-click Sandustry > Properties > Launch Options) that might help prevent crashes.

--sandustry-no-overlay-gpu-flags

Note: This will likely make the Steam overlay stop working (achievements will continue to work).

Crashing During Gameplay with an NVIDIA Graphics Card

If Sandustry is crashing during gameplay and you have an NVIDIA graphics card, try disabling the NVIDIA in-game overlay.

Disable the NVIDIA Overlay

GeForce Experience

1. Open GeForce Experience.
   
2. Click the gear icon to open Settings.
   
3. Find In-Game Overlay and turn it Off.

You can also use these shortcuts:

• Alt + R turns off the NVIDIA performance overlay.
  
• Alt + Z opens the NVIDIA overlay, where you can disable its features.

Once the overlay is disabled, restart Sandustry and try playing again.

Low FPS or Steam Overlay Not Working with an NVIDIA Graphics Card

If Sandustry is running at unusually low FPS, the Steam Overlay or Steam Performance Monitor isn't working, or NVIDIA appears to treat the game as a background application, try adding the following Steam launch option:

--in-process-gpu

To add it:

1. Right-click Sandustry in your Steam Library.
   
2. Select Properties.
   
3. Under General, find Launch Options.
   
4. Enter --in-process-gpu.
   
5. Close the Properties window and launch Sandustry normally.

Low FPS or Stuttering While Using Fullscreen

If Sandustry is experiencing severe FPS drops or stuttering, try disabling Fullscreen in the game's display settings.

• Open the game's Settings.
  
• Go to Display.
  
• Turn Fullscreen off.
  
• Return to the game and check whether performance improves.

Crashes Potentially Caused by Graphics Software

If Sandustry is crashing frequently during gameplay, try closing graphics-related applications running in the background or resetting the game's graphics profile.

• For AMD users, try closing AMD Gaming Evolved if you have it running.
  
• For NVIDIA users, try completely closing the NVIDIA App and NVIDIA Control Panel, including their icons in the system tray.
  
• If you use NVIDIA Profile Inspector, try creating a new profile for Sandustry using the default settings.

Game Does Not Respond to Input If You Have Razer Cortex

If Sandustry launches normally but does not respond when you click or press anything, and you have Razer Cortex installed, try disabling its in-game overlay.

• Open Razer Cortex.
  
• Disable the in-game overlay or performance/statistics overlay.
  
• Restart Sandustry.
