Achievements are clues
This game is hard to figure out, even for people really really good at math. I'm pretty sure that's intentional. There is just enough detail to give you an idea what is going on, and as the game goes on, a bit more ambiguity in the descriptions of different options. I've found that the achievements are a big clue. Example, a lot of people mention getting stuck at 16 DTP. I did too. So frustrated I just ran a max eternity build for a day and a half, getting e11 eternities while I spent 5 minutes here and there trying something different. Then I just went for the next achievement and now I can finally get DTP 17. Several times that missing achievement with a few others higher in the order done already pointed the path to the next plateau.

The "ambiguity" seems to happen because the development team has used different means of translating things during different stages of development, resulting in things like "base exponent" being called "common exponent" in some places and just "exponent" in others, or how "SC" is supposed to be used for (revolution) score but it's used for "soft cap" in other places.

As for "getting stuck..." The game requires experimentation. If you're going slowly and aren't in DTP 40+, it's not the game.
