Question about auto slowdown & IP Adjuster.
Hi.

I'm currently at the stage where i'm going towards breaking Ethernaty.
I'm now at 20 ∑

There are 2 things i'm currently struggeling with.

First question.
The autoslowdown value can't be lower than 10.00

White at my stage this slows down my progress at i'm good around 4slowdowns to keep the paste.
Is there any way to lower this value? Everything i type about 10 is no issue.
But now its slowing me way to much.

Second question.
The auto IP adjuster.
I have the feeling that no matter what side i'm setting it on. The adjuster only jumps up a few Exxx

For example.
I put my auto adjuster to 10.000.000 modifyer

Say my current min IP is 3,32e14.
Next step it will go to 3,32e20

Only 6 higher. While i can easly do like 30.

When i set it to 100.000.000 (it automatically changes it to 1.00e9)
It goes up only 10 (e33 -> e44)

Am i reading the value's wrong as this seems like such a big number to imput.
I would think if i up it on value 10 it would make the next just 10 times as high.

Thanks in advance for your input!

You're seeing those two things in a different way than they actually work.

"10.000.000" is e7. 100.000.000 is e8. Each number after the "e" in scientific notation is the number of digits after the leftmost number in any given value you may see. So e20 is not just "6 higher" than e14, but around e6 higher, that is, around (or above) 1 million times more. They're an exponent, each "e" higher will be a multiple of the previous "eXXX" by a factor of 10.

As for slowdown, the lower you set it, the sooner it will trigger, the more it will slow you down. If you notice it slows you down too much, you want it higher than 10, even by magnitudes (100 or 1000 may be better.)

Ahh thank you so much for your reply!
I understand now how the IP adjuster works.
I had the calculation wrong. (never learned how scientific numers work)

Tried it with 1,00e20 - 1,00e30 range and this works much better!

As for the lapspeed. I thought it worked like this: set it to 3 and it does a max of 3 slowdowns.

But i should be reading it like this.
If i set slowdown to 10 it will do the following (in simple words): If all colors have a lap speed of 10 it will do a slowdown. (and keeps triggering it so you slow down way to fast)

So indeed you need to set it higher for it to trigger less.
The idea behind slowdown is that the extra ascensions would overpower the slowdown effect, but as I found out a while ago, it has diminishing returns the further you progress. I'm using slowdown at 2500 right now, but I only have the last achievement left. You may think "but waiting until 2500 laps per second, it won't trigger at all" but numbers grow a lot more than one would expect, I have 35 slowdowns piled up even with that high a setting. And amusingly, that actually speeds up the score I gain per second a lot compared to having no slowdowns at all.

I never found slowdown useful until after the perks that Prestige and Promotions no longer cause reset. Then you can leave it at the default of 10 and it seemed fine and never messed with it again. Before you have those perks, it's more of an annoyance and can slow you down.
If you've never "messed with it" you've been slowing yourself down. It's not noticeable until you make a long run (one hour should be enough) and see how much your score goes up with 10 laps, 100 laps or 1000 laps. At 10 laps, the extra ascensions seem to give diminishing returns the more slowdowns you have (and it becomes 'an annoyance' that slows everything from AP farming to dilation points farming.)

Are you saying you get better results with a higher setting?

I seem to remember the opposite. I reset my save file a while ago, I'll have to play with it when I get there again.

Edit: I only meant that it was an annoyance before having the perks that don't cause prestige/ promotion resets since slowdown stayed slow.

I get to the same score significantly faster with slowdown at 2500 than I would with slowdown at 10. Logic dictates that "more ascensions = better" but a lot of things in this game don't seem to follow linear logic. Some mechanics, to be honest, seem to run on Insane Troll Logic.
Thanks for the clarification. I'll have to remember to check it when I get there again.
