What does the score mean?

My score is 5.83 and I'm currently ranked 46240. Where does the 5.83 come from? I don't see that number anywhere else.

Score is the number positioned just above the animation in the center of the screen. It's marked with a target symbol. Each time any color completes a revolution you gain some amount of score, determined by a ****ton of multipliers in the game.

I don't know where you're seeing a rank? Oh, wait, yeah, that blue button there brings up some silly leaderboard. I hadn't given that thing any thought since pretty much the same day I started playing this. (Why is this even a thing?) Apparently on the general tab I'm listed at rank 2427 with a score of 391... Yeah, no clue what that's about. On the infinite tab I'm at rank 2623 with a score of 452e18, and on the eternate tab I'm at rank 3378 with a score of 1,150,778.

And the relevance to any actual values in the game? ... *shrug* I'm seeing target symbol score value in the e27M range, I've got 303e18 infinities (although I think this resets when each new eternity starts? maybe my score on the infinities leaderboard is the highest I've ever had it?), I'm seeing IP values in the e22k range, I've got 1,150,778 eternities (so that's a match for my eternate leaderboard score at least), and I've got an EP value at about e1656.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Yes I was asking about the score in the Leaderboard on the general tab. The score in the Infinite tab is how many infinities I've earned so far but I haven't unlocked Enternities yet so I don't know what happens at that point.

That leaderboard is like the spoiler of a car. It looks cool but does absolutely nothing of relevance, except distracting from the actual important things.

the leaderboards are there so people with more money than sense can gain a sense of self importance by being the highest arbitrary number in an idle game.
