A 0.1s Eternity could be giving you 1000 EP/s but if you let it run for 10 minutes you could b getting 5k EP/s instead, making every second spent in the game worth five times more.
It's been that way for me for most of Eternity, right now I could be getting e290 EP/s in one second, or let eternity run for one hour and get e1790 EP/s instead.
Yup, made sure to turn that off some time ago for Auto-Infinity, and Prestige/Promotion are very low and on 0s intervals.
Is there a general point where that starts to become more efficient? After about 10-20 minutes, the EP/s has gone drastically down which is why I've been doing the 0.8s runs. It seems to stagnate in my runs pretty quickly, which is why I wasn't sure if it was a "I haven't hit the right point" thing or a "I have to be patient" thing. I have about 6 hours of Time Flux banked so it's easy to do tests with this, I've just been holding onto it for testing purposes and also for "Let's see if I can get this challenge/thing-I-want-to-do done" situations.
So, the long and the short of it, is that patience *was* key here.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions!
I make 1k IP every 1-2 min. ...
The whole game pre-"Dilation Tree" update took me only two months to beat, and I wasn't even actively playing it most of that time (background apps are background apps.)
Thanks for the help once again, both here and in other threads that I read your comments on!
EP/s isn't irrelevant for Dilation - you need lab boosts, animals and supernovas to make Dilation go faster (as well as triggering Dilation itself at times,) and those need you to get EPs. Also, eternities matter, if you don't have at least a few hundred thousands of them, things will be going much slower.
I had two million eternities before the update - that helped me get a nice head start, and the Dilation Tree has an upgrade that gives passive Eternities (like the upgrade that gives Infinities) so I'm close to a billion now.
