Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

Absurdly Low Framerate - Hi-quality system
So I've been playing the game again after a long time... new computer and everything. 3.1 ghz intel core i3, AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series, 8g ram, Windows 7 x64. Definitely good enough, by FAR.

But for some reason... everything seems to run at about 10 fps at most. Everything responds quickly enough. I'm wondering if there's some sort of compatibility issue.

Anyone ever experience this?

On another note... why did Steam stop selling NWN2?

I am having the same problem after installing it yesterday. I played it 6 months ago and had no problems. Let me know if you find the answer,

Dont turn shadows to max, turn them to med at most. For some reason the way this game does shadows is really unoptimized and causes some kind of screw up with frame rates. on some systems.

Turn off the shadows and enjoy your 60fps.

Also, get the client extender.

This happened to me recently.

I restarted the PC, and everything was back to normal.

Yep that happens to me also. Sometimes I'll load up NWN and its super choppy, then a restart fixes it.

If that isn't your issue try closing everything else after restarting your computer (dont run fraps, xfire, etc) and see if that helps. I believe one time I was using a screen recorder and just having it opened would make the game lag even if I wasn't recording.

restarting my PC fixed it. Thank you all

I'm having this same issue. I put the d3d9.dll into my main directory and it still doesn't resolve the issue. Any idea?

If you are getting major stuttering.. restart your pc.

Better to use client extension.

it's a timing bug in the game engine itself.

client extension fixes it.
