Bard!

I need something to play to kill the time before Pillars of Eternity, so I decided to replay NWN2! I always hear bards are terrible, so I'm going to make one because why not?

Should I just pure class the bard, or do they do well multiclassing?

um... bards rock. self-buffing, good sword hand, umd. Their ability points are spread out a bit thin, but something like 14, 14, 14, 11, 10, 16 ish works good. Their fascinate sucks, but their other songs compensate for that. Just make sure to start with power attack + cleave. A splash of rogue might help; if you go that way, start as a rogue and then go bard until about 6th or 7th and then add your 2nd level rogue. I do it that way to crank up points in my rogue skils a little later on. Either way though, you can still pick up rogue skills (like open lock and disarm) as a cross-class skill. enjoy.

has a lot of bard stuff, you say you replay this game, so why not use the mod (that also fixes some bugs)

Rubbish, they are one of the top melee buffers in the game, second only to Cleric builds.

After 10 Bard levels (or something like that) go for the Dragon Disciple prestige class, you won't be disappointed.
