[Sonny 2] I got stuck at 4th level

Basically when the first battle is about to start it just gets frozen, is against that big Gorilla, it jumps and the game breaks, not allowing me to attack or skip turns.

There's a glitch in the original version of Sonny 2 where sometimes enemies just slide away and disappear, softlocking the game.

Was it similar to that?

Close the game, restart it and it should be ok

No, it was different, the enemy uses an ability (a jump and an attack later) but it doesn't attack, just use the ability.
