items like the crowbar that instantly passes the 'something on the road' and 'abandoned car' events. but also upgrades that make certain events much easier. like rally tires, carburetor, and such.
However, the winch didn't really make the 'fallen tree' or 'fallen rocks' any easier, neither did the car jack skip the 'flat tire' event.

Having a rope seems to help with some events. I like to carry around rope, flashlight, sunglasses, crowbar and a knife. For car upgrades, having 2 armor at the start of every fight is very strong and lets you skip a lot of fights after getting down to 2 threat. Its possible to get this on each of the 3 cars using different upgrades.

As for the glovebox, I keep gum, tape, cigarettes and the multispray stocked at all times.

I think I missed that, because I always have gum in my glovebox. I must have used it all before that event. (at least with more than 1-2 hitchhikers)
