Warrior Energy Advertisement Paint Job

So I accepted the quest to drive around with the advert for Warrior Energy. It instantly painted my car with the logo, which was fine. But then I completed the quest, and it was still painted. Ok, I thought, I'll just go to a garage and apply a new paint. No joy - the color changed, but the ad was still there. Even after completing a run and starting a new one, if I check the option to keep my upgrades, the car is still painted with that damned advertisement. Is there (please god!) a way to remove it once the quest is completed? It's not a huge or game-breaking thing obviously, but it's driving me mad anyway.

When you accept the quest, it's a unique paint item that's automatically placed in the cosmetic slot. You can remove it in the garage by dragging it out of its slot into your trunk. It sells for $2.
