Punk quest bugged

SO, I completed the quest to take the punk to the punk bar, and I completed it in time.
But when I got to the bar I got both the quest succeeded and quest failed messages, and when in the city the punk says I got there late and he missed the band. But I got to keep the dog as a hitchhiker. I take it it is bugged?

Probably because when you're successful you keep the Dog.

Same issue here - Got the punk bar achievement, dog stayed in the car, and I had an empty seat to take a new hitchhiker.

On a related note, is there a way to feed dog food to the dog? I see stores sell dog food but don't know what to do with it

Also, once you leave the punk at the concert, the dog starts gaining skills and there's no drawback. Best travel companion so far.

Non spoiler answer: dog food is for something else. Personally I try to collect a few in case I need them later. . .

Full answer: In city exploration you will sometimes be blocked by a dog. Using a dog food or having the dog with you will let you through. I like doing the exploring so I grab em when I can.
