Post your miscellaneous facts and discoveries about Keep Driving. [SPOILERS]
What are some interesting things you've learned or found about this game? I'll post a few I've come across:

  • Crowbars help you pass Something on the Road events. They also allow you to break locked gates while exploring in the city.
  • Flashlights help you pass through caves while exploring in the country. This is in addition to its stated effects.
  • Knives can be used to pass through muggers while exploring in the city. They also allow you to cut through vines while exploring in the country.
  • Ropes help you pass Flock of Sheep and Cow events. They also allow you to climb over rocks while exploring in the country.
  • Hood ornaments must be installed at Garages. Same for car paint. They do nothing in your inventory. What the ornaments do after installation is still to be determined.
  • Returning Home after being on the road seems to have no effect. You can't rest there except in your vehicle, oddly enough.
  • The Idiot will randomly remove an item you've installed on your vehicle and replace it with flowers, e.g., the Roll Cage. Idiot!
  • If you complete a job at an employment agency while High, your pay will be reduced by half.

I found a lighthouse, but I haven't found anything about this secret

the lighthouse is the end destination for a certain passenger. The Convict

I think the various dashboard bobble heads have influence on type of events you can get. See The Kid with her level 3 ability "Childish Imagination - Increases the power of your bobble-head"

With her in the car at level 3 I seemed to encounter more roadside objects, huts, and abandoned cars with the lucky cat. Jacket bobblehead gave me more biker gangs, Buddha gave tumbleweeds. it's probably confirmation bias lol

You can fold your seats down to increase inventory space by right clicking them, and i didn't know that until i had to leave stuff behind

- "In the Zone" status is triggered when you solve an event without any threat getting a chance to attack. It does not need to be solved in one round only, as long as you remove all attacking threats every round. Armor absorbing a hit will prevent being In the Zone, as a threat still attacked.

- Thrift stores buy items for more money than any other stores.

- The "Happy" status can be triggered by simply "driving fast". Now the real question is, what is considered "driving fast" by the game? All I can say is, if you have the good driver perk and the engine upgrade that boosts speed (is it called "turbo"?), it is enough to trigger the happy status quite often. Can only one of the two do it without the other contributing? No idea. Might also depend on the vehicle and other perks.

- While Exploring at a location, W-A-D can be used to move. A bit annoying that W is strictly for moving, it won't search or use items.

- Bobbleheads do have an effect, we can conclude that because one of The Kid's perks is clear about it. However, those effects are not clearly stated in their descriptions. The mechanic bobblehead seems to randomly give +1 durability during road events, the Hawaiian girl bobblehead seems to randomly make a note appear. I tried to figure others like Jesus and the lucky cat, but nothing conclusive at this point. And frankly, I could be wrong about the first 2, but I still find it interesting.

-Maximize a skill tree give a passif effect for each skill tree
- If Inspired and you do a job, you do not spent any energy doing so. you even get a Trait for it.
- Can of Dogfood can allow you to get past a dog in the alleyway streets. The Stranger will help you get past thugs in the streets as well.
- A knife can cut past brush if exploring the woods.
- Do not eat the red mushrooms with white dots. all other mushrooms are fine, one type gives energy and another removes Hunger.
- You can skip ahead in the calender to next month. Game apparently do not end just because you miss the festival... :)
- Having the little girl along can be very profitable and worthwhile because she gives fruit candies each time you finish a 'quest location' for her.
- The Mountain ending can be made easier simply by going as fast as possible by using the Convict. By using his Go! Go! Go! skill you can increase your speed as long as it clears the board. You can stack it even further if you have the King of the Road passive for maxing out the Driving skill tree, and keep using the skill even though it's depleted at the cost of 1 gas and 1 durability. Instead of 24 hours, I got to the top in 12 - could probably do it faster.

Not particularly game-mechanic related, but The Girl and The Mechanic are characters straight from the movie Two-Lane Blacktop (1971), even their likenesses are the same. It's no coincidence that the default name for the player character is 'Driver' because the main character of the movie is simply referred to as 'The Driver'.
Well, anyone know how to deal with dogs while exploring in the city?

Throw out crowbar/knife. 4 points ability in Basic skill tree that charge other skills if used perfectly, can charge nice in locked hut/something on roadside events
press "R" to rotate an item that you're holding
I - trunk
M - map

Not sure about that one. A knife taking only 2 slots in inventory, sometimes even just 1 slot, is very useful when exploring, which is a very good way to make money. Getting blocked by thugs and bushes cuts down a lot on the money you can make.

The crowbar is more a QoL item (though it might be the only thing able to deal with gates when exploring), so maybe, but then what else is the inventory space going to be used for? it's only 3 slots after all.
Anyone know what the rear hook upgrade is used for? Any trailers in the game?
