missing cat failed

i have the cat but wasn't fast enough to bring it back to the owner so now the quest is failed but i still have the cat in my car. what do i do with it now?
also what kind of owner is like "my cat is missing, i'll wait 9 days and if it doesn't show up i just won't care if it shows up later"

maybe lower the reward by 75% or something but don't just fail it

IDK, keep the cat, find another bounty for a missing one. Offer that person your spare cat, see if it matters. I find it quite funny actually!
