Game too hard, also doesn't let me heal
Hello, the game seemed cool at first but when I got to the sewer, the mobs are way too strong and I don't see how it would be feasible to beat it. Also, healing for some reason on Joseph is grayed out in the sewer. Would be a lot easier if it wasn't. TY

Healing seems to be grayed out even outside the sewer. In the tutorial level, I used healing perfectly okay. Don't know what's going on, but the game is actually impossible like this
Maybe you used a spell in the Heal-tab that requires a higher stat, could it be that you have used a ring or some kind, to reach that lvl but unequiped it ? Have you looked at your stats, if it is the first heal spell that is grayed out, do you have 0 in Heal ? That should be impossible, but sounds like a New game start to me.
You also could have a problem with your AP management. Sometimes, if you are to good at the Combo-attacks, they chew through your AP-bar. For the first Health spell you need at least 5 AP, I believe. I also think it is normal, that if you are in the Town or other peaceful regions, that all your abillitys are grayed out. In that places it is of no use anyway.

Hey dude, I will check if I unequipped a ring, but honestly I don't think so because I remember looking through my inventory last night and I would have tried that. I honestly think it is a bug because actually, NONE of my skills were working, all were grayed out. In the sewers, as Joseph I could very briefly click on "Push" but no animation would take place and my Mana wouldn't be depleted at all. I believe it is a bug bro but thank you
It is normal that all Combat skills are grayed out. Only the Magic and Fleece THief skills are active. But I have to admit I never faced a problem like that.
The UI is sometimes tricky could it be, that you may have looked at the Skill-tab? The Spells, that can be used are in the spell-book above ? I started a new game and that was the first thing, that struck me. I opend at least 3 tabs, before I clicked the Spell-menu. But so far, the Game runs good on my end. Sorry.

That sounds like the problem, I know I had the Skills tab open. Where is the Spells tab? To use the healing spell, do I not go all the way to the right on the Skills menu? That's what worked in the tutorial mission to heal.
Jup ... the Skill-tab is kind of redundant and not. For Magic and Combat skills it just shows you your stats, just like the Character-menu. For Fleece for excample, it is usefull, for her thief talents. It is also usefull for Joseph and an other Companien later in the game. For Spells you can only use the spell-tab, or at least I thought so.

The spell-tab is opened by clicking the "burning"book above the skills-tab and it has also a drag and drop-mechanic, were you can put up to 6 Spells in the empty Slots on the rightside of your "UI". Than you can cast them by clicking on them or using the numbers 1-6. It also works for Fleece thief-talents like lockpick or backstab. But in peacefull-areas they also could be grayed out, that is normal. In the spell-tab, the spells of the Healing-skill are on the left side. It is the first headline, with a glowing Hand I think.

Old games ...., that is the advantage, if you have grown up with them, you just click EVERYTHING, this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Rubik's cube gives you. And make a lot of Saveslots before entering a new location or exit to the Worldmap, better safe than sorry.
If you are able to isolate the first bandit that ambushes you without attracting the other two the fight is easier two on one. If you get caught in the three on two situation, having the main character who can heal himself take the damage while the other attacks from behind focusing on the same enemy together, is another way with a high enough level. Training can be done by exiting and reloading combat areas or exploring the map. If you save enough gold to buy the crossbow this may also help a lot.
healing is tied to a skill i think
i beat this game when i was 8 years old
i really dont think its hard
just extremely old, janky, and confusing with its mechanics at times
