How is this version, vs PC emulated version?

I actually own the Summoner game on PS2, but never got around to beating it. I've been eyeing this one for some time, but am curious how the performance and graphics are on this? I can easily just pop my PS2 disc in my drive and emulate it with PCSX2, and even enable graphics enhance,ents to make it crisper - but of course, the performance is... tricky.

So what's the pros of the PC version agsint the PS2 version? Anything particularly different?

I too originally completed Summoner on PS2. I still have the disk and tried emulating it. Don't bother. It doesn't emulate correctly. I got to Lenele and a quest character..."Good Wife Dama"? was levitating above everyone else, with no way to interact with her. It wasn't like that originally.

Odd, because I went ahead and emulated after posting this, and after getting some assistance on those forums it works great. I'm still very tempted to get this on sale today though...

May I ask which emulator and which settings you used then? I prefer the PS2 pad controls tbh.

The emulator is PCSX2 on PC. If you go to their forum and just search "Summoner" you will see a lot of results for "Devil Summoner" - BUT! You will also see my thread about 7 or 8 items down on the first page (I use the same name there, too). That has all the recommended settings people said I should use, including my own screenshots of settings before making their suggested tweaks. Runs like a dream, has smoothed graphics, and even works with the steam controller provided I edit the desktop mode configs.

I'd link but I don't think Steam likes links to emulation stuff, so I'm not going to risk it, but it's easy enough to find.

I went ahead and purchased this one too. I know the devs aren't really getting money for it, but I figured I'd kick a few bucks more just to show love for the game. Shame the 2nd one never came to PC.

I dont want to install dx 7/8 over my dx 9 to get ONLY this game to work. I noticed it was 32 bit and I run in 64. How do I get this game to work ?

Running win 10 x64 here. Direct x 7 won't ruin your dx 9,10,11 or 12. It just updates specific files. If you have the option to not install dx 7 then take it if it bothers you that much. Runs right off the bat on x64. Like all 32 bit apps.
