The sewer gate puzzle

How do I get past this, game was getting real cool with battles and a new partner and then this... Robot tells me this gate closes this gate and I can't figure it out I can only get 1 gate open on the path and I don't see any other way through it.

If anyone would like to clue me in on this it would be appreciated over wading through tons of text. I don't like looking up walkthroughs for one part.

I don't remember exactly but it could be that you have to split your party and move one down to the gates while the other one turn the wheels to open/close them.

Thanks I didn't even know you could move that far from each other I'll try that.

You should have a button somewhere on the UI you can click to have anyone in the party go "solo" :)

Yea I figured it out, very easy and intuitive and they don't get stuck when coming back, very well done for its time.
