cant play help

after 17 years or so im trying to play this on my new pc. i have no mouse on screen with summoner open. i can hit s to start new game but the entire ground is just black and the dialog boxes arent there. its unplayable. uninstalled the reinstalled it, same thing and now if i hit stop nothing happens. it stays running.

it does recognise my rx5500xt. ive adjusted resolution. no luck. any input

im having the same issue with the game not rendering properly, i've had to email thq to ask for help

I have the same issue, after the game intro all I can do is walk around but most of the UI seems to be missing in the form of black boxes.

Actually I just fixed it.
I opened my summoner game folder and changed the compatability mode for "Sum.exe" and "Summoner.exe" to windows xp servicepack 3 and it worked!

To me that doesn't work. I fixed by deselecting use d3d optimizations from the Summoner startup menu.

I got mine working using the changes provided by ATI and emanuele but now I have some graphical bugs. the ground or grass terrain isnt in the right place. anyone know a fix for that as well?

Yeah I'd that too so... I've found after some searching the solution and now the game is perfect :)

Here is the definitive solution which worked for me (please note you'll have to accept to play in 16-bit and not 32-bit but don't worry: games dated back to year 2000 or around didn't use very well 32-bit so the differences are really small):
