The game does not start
Good afternoon.
When I start the game Z2.exe appears in the processes and disappears.
I decided to verify integrity of game cache. When testing was reported that one of the files is corrupted and will be downloaded again.
After that I tried to run the game again and it again is not started. When checking again it was reported that one of the files is corrupted.

I watched a similar problem on the link http://steamcommunity.com/app/275510/discussions/0/34093781717513353/

When I try to run the game in the directory: %appdata%\TickTock\Z-Steel Soldiers file log.txt not appeared.

Please help. =)

Thanks for the report. We're looking in to the crash. The one reported in the link I think was due to some misconfiguration as the player said he fixed it. We have had one other person report a crash that happens before the game initializes (before the log is written) and we're trying to track it down and provide extra crash detection in future builds. I'll keep you updated with our progress in tracking the crash :)

As a test could you please try installing these (you likely already have them but I'd like you'd to double check) then run the game again:

DirectX runtime:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35

VC++ 2012 runtime:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Please let me know if those make any difference.

Thank you for answering so quickly =)
I installed these distributions, but the game is not started.
The log file also does not appear

Thanks. I'm looking in to this but will need to track down the cause of the crash before we can patch.

Just had another thought, could you temporarily disable your anti-virus / Windows Defender / Microsoft Security Essentials and see if it loads up then?

Could you also try starting Steam in offline mode and launching the game?

It's not an options problem. The game fails to even start executing any of the main() code. It's crashing before the log is even initialized which is the first thing that happens. Had a couple of people report this but the crash happens in msvcr.dll or ntdll.dll so trying to track exceptions in the static initialization right now.

ntdll is nvidia, fault drivers? this was converted from directx8a wasnt it? to OpenGl , did u guys remove the CAPS?

There's no Direct X at all anymore in the program, it's SDL2 with GL. ntdll.dll is a kernel level library within Windows. Nothing to do with rendering or anything I suspect there's a memory/heap issue somewhere on initialization before the main code begins executing.

which one is it that interfaces between the shader model of a graphics card and directx ? or is that a different dll, caps used it to figure out what the highest shader model is available lol i dont know what made me think it was ntdll but i do know some times nvidia drivers have caused problems with it in the past, have u guys tried proxy dlls?

proxy dlls for what? ntdll is a core part of windows. The crash is happening before the engine even starts running any code. It's a very low level problem and there is very little static initialization in the game anyway so I'm just tracing through it all right now.

a proxy dll was used for interfacing between an exe and the core library of windows, u can use proxy dlls to alter information bein passed to the core dll, if ntdll is faulting and so is msvcr then u can create proxies to see what is being passed between these and what is faulting and dump it out to a text file, they did this to get act of war running on a machine with more than 4gb of ram

Good evening.
I tried to restart the game when steam offline and turned off windows defender.
I have also updated the driver for graphics card.
The result is the same.
I worry about checking the integrity of the cache. She always gives that 1 file is corrupted and will be loaded. What file is corrupted unknown. Maybe the problem is that Z2.exe damaged?

is there a crash window that appears?
tarkus Aug 9, 2014 @ 2:46pm
When you run the game do you see a mesage saying "Failed to Start the Game (Missing Executable)" From Steam??

If the answer to the above is a no then proceed to this next step.
Are you using Windows 7 or 8?? Could you right click Z2.exe and press Run As Administrator
