A problem searching All Periodicals

So I'm on Roottreemania. Here is my save - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RioGx7FCNbaJrS9jsyNd-H79RUQGC_XI/view?usp=sharing . I was working on the Miracle case and the "The Old Rugged Cross" came up. So I searched it in all periodicals and nothing came up. I think I tried right click searching in periodicals as well as copying the name and putting it in the search bar and neither returned anything. Only when I specifically searched for it in MMM did I get a hit.

Hmmm... I wonder if the problem was due to the periodical dropdown menu defaulting to blank rather than All Periodicals. Maybe it was just user error in the end...

I encountered similar problems when playing tonight. I'm sure when I last played (last week) it was working fine (or at least I didn't notice any issues) but repeatedly tonight searching when the dropdown was showing all it was not returning results but specific journals were.

My assumption was that while it was showing all periodicals that it was actually treating as nothing selected.

Same issue. "Search All" returns no results but searching a specific periodical returns information. I encountered the periodical search issue on:
- The Old Rugged Cross
- Antonellis
- Sisely Sanchez

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this bug. Every time "(Search All Periodicals)" is selected it seems to work.

I did discover that if you added any white space to the "(Search All Periodicals)" string it would fail, so I have a fix for that. I wonder if that's the issue? This should come out later today.

If not I will need more help reproducing this.

I had the same problem. Many searches that should have given a result came up blank even though I had "search all periodicals" activated. I only realized after getting completely stuck and using the duck, that I had to click on the relavant periodical for it to activate properly.
I might be wrong but my hunch is that the game doesn't count periodicals you have not yet looked at even if it is in the list.

I've had this bug happen multiple times aswell. Definitely happened with "The Old Rugged Cross" and just now with Gwynn Roottree and Wild Bill Williams

Maybe if you highlight a text to "Search Periodicals" it doesn't work 100% the time? IDK.

Thanks for the bug reports. I figured out what the bug was. Roottreemania includes some magazines by default, and "Search All Periodicals" was not searching them unless you'd either visited their SpiderSearch pages or searched them via dropdown first.

This is fixed in the next patch.
