The King is Watching

The King is Watching

Really good demo !!! - Demo Feedback
SO, i just saw a video of this demo, and i had to try it first, i didnt even let the guy say hello jaja

This game, is easy to understand
easy to play
relaxing and challenging at the same time
When you upgrade your stuff on the city , you FEEL the difference
Is not like other games that says 10% max health, and did nothing
You dont have to grind too much to feel progress
And you have to play as a roguelike, its freaking awesome

i would like to have upgrades or bonuses that make units cheaper.

For example, ARCHERS, i love them in any game, so i tried to use them, but they where not as good as their value suggest. First, the building is expensive, but then, they just... DIE... they push, they dont move, and thats it, the end of the unit.
What you should do, is having an upgrade or smt, that makes the archer retreat to the castle at least. Or have some of them, on those towers that are on the way. (seriously, i thought archers would climb those and shoot) (Also, maybe to balance them, some air unit can attack ally units on towers, so they are not invincible inside them)

Second stuff that i couldnt figure it out in 5 hours of the demo, was crystal units and buildings. I got them, i tried to use them, but i wasnt able to make them work.
The crystal mine was too slow compared to normal ones, and i never got time to build any crystal building, neither a unit. Maybe that need to be checked in some way, but im not sure what.

Also, idk why you left rows in the city outside the demo. I searched for a way to unlock them, destroy the building on top, etc... i couldnt find a way to use them.

I had some runs where i was able to break the game, but i was limited for the max vision zone of the king... WHY ?!?!?
I had 1200 of gold that wasnt being use quickly enough, but was being produced faster.
Why i wasnt able to surpass the 2x3 grid ??? For me, that doesnt make sense.
If im able to surpass the limits of the level -having in mind that we are only playing lvl1 and ending with a dragon- I should be able to keep scaling to infinity, maybe even making that the ENTIRE city works.

I hope to see more of this game in the future, maybe some updates to the demo prior tu the release of the game. Because it needs some love in regard of listening to the community. Dont rush the release date please!!! Thats how this kind of games get lost after having such a great pre-release moment.

Crystal units are really only viable if you get the Crystal Mask Artifact(3 crystals per enemy unit killed) early in my experience. The resource expenditure needed for Crystal related buildings just isn't worth a crystal mine's relatively meager output. Or if you get lucky with the gateway/teleport spell and get a huge clump of your units to go out and rob some fae for their crystals.

That being said, I completely disagree with your proposal regarding 'being able to see the entire city'. The point of the game is to use tactics/strategy to defeat the Goblin Boss and Dragon with what you scrounge together.

Typically I'd suggest

Wheat on 25% Bonus Patch. 25% upgrade, 15% chance for gold. It can get you plenty of gold overtime and you no longer need(but you'll want to keep just in case) the market.
Magic School on 25% Bonus Patch, another 25% thanks to the upgrade
Sawmill in between if possible or underneath the magic school(for the 10% production bonus to connected buildings). The combination of the 10% and 50% for the magic school means you're getting a spell almost every 2ish waves, 3 depending on swapping.
Your choices of either Militia or Peasant Hovels. Oh, also if you've got the excess water, the research bench for producing new building card choices. I've not had much luck with it but every time you get one from it you can recycle them for a neat 5 more Denair(spelling?).

On the sides you can have excess resource production for when you don't need to recruit troops and want to maintain a stockpile. Usually keep a market or spare Well in reserve just in case you need to produce the 25 water productions in a pinch.

To be honest ever since the newest update I've not had a single run where I've managed to kill the Dragon so far. The nerfs to Militia and Peasant production speed just don't allow the ability to send wave after wave of your own men at the dragon until a mountain of corpses has been reached and your walls are shiny pristine thanks to the Bloodbound Brick Artifact(1 HP regain per own unit killed)
