How accurate is this game?
I am talking about tanks armors, round penetration etc.
I am a SPWW2 and SPMBT big fan and a steel Panthers big fan since day one, but Steel is old and boring if you are playing against the AI so i am only playing PBEM but is this game a real good single player game with accurate datas?

This game is very, very realistic as far as ballistics, penetration and damage modelling etc are concerned.

Of course there is always room for improvement and clearly other games will do things in different ways, however, on the whole these games are all about realism and attention to detail in every aspect.

Here's a link you may find interesting http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=10060.0

and here's a link to the manual, scroll down to page 61 to get a flavour of the games depth http://graviteam.com/AP-STAR/TOOLS/tactics_manual_(eng).pdf

Well either the army lied to me, or GTOS does a better job. I was told a 12.7mm M2HB would kill a BMP in a few rounds. In GTOS only if rather close and on the flank. It does realistic ballistics, realistic penitration and damage. YOu get alot of WW2 eastern front and with DLC's some other a bit more modern stuff. All campaigns are modelled actual fights. They even look into the historical archives and get vehicle rosters if able. SO... ya. =)

Nice now i wonder which datas base are they using?
But this is already nice.

Weak spots this is also hmm.. weak spots ^^
The homogeneity of the armor is not perfect, if the majority of the front armor is 120mm you may have weaker spot with only 80mm etc.

Nothing is perfect : )

However, everything they do they do as accurately as they possibly can taking into account things like limited resources, having said that they continue to update the game with various enhancements and improvements so who knows, more complex variable armour depth modelling may well be on the to do list.

While GT has great graphics the flawed battles that the dynamic campaign generates have nothing to do with the reality. The insufficient AI will keep charging with tanks trough woods and with infantry trough open terrain while getting torn to pieces. After watching dozen of these dumb battles play out the same I had enough.

Thus this is no competition for the handcrafted missions of WINSPWW2 or WINSPMBT.

If you looking into something more sophisticated and modern than SP better get Combat Mission which offers campaigns that are hand crafted but with dynamic branching and force preservation elements - the best of both worlds, similar to WINSP. In my view it also has the best researched armor, penetration, effect values and the most sophisticated C3 system in place and even comes with advanced psychological elements. It is the most definitive ground war RTS ever created.

I however still hope that GT one day will reach a higher quality when it comes to scenario/campaign quality.

Generally speaking Anti tank infantry is really weak. They changed that in Mius-Front ( the sequel ) though.

Everything else is pretty realistic. On the screenshot down below you can see a bullet penetrating a Halftrack. Notice how the bullet penetrating the halftrack goes straight through to the other side.
