Mainly though, this is a hands on learning game, the manuals, tutorials and wiki don't cover everything.
Log onto the Graviteam forum if you have an questions, I find that to be the best place to get quick answers to most questions.
(Q)Steel-(A)Fury is a question that needs to be answered to become a member there.
I'm pretty familiar with the game and spent quite a bit of time with it and can answer most questions there since I visit the Graviteam forums often(Not as much here though).
One of the hardest things for me at the mo is finding my stuff. The map is so big and yet the units are so small :-)
Also, left click the icon to select the unit then tap "Q" and the camera will jump to and lock to the unit so you can follow it easier.
If there is a unit say for example a scout you have sent out ahead and you need to be able to find him sharpish you can set him to a control group by holding down CTRL + 1 or 2 ect..
i feel your pain brother, i've clocked up 90 hours and there is still a lot i don't know although i have managed to win a campaign at last = )
this game is unlike anything else out there and the learning curve is very steep, having said that the sense of acheivement when you get things right makes all the early frustrations worth it.
I recommend you visit the graviteam forums http://graviteam.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=n3js4d83s054675i4lj5akci67&
there are a lot of helpful knowledgable players and devs there and they can answer pretty much any question you may have.
I still don't know exactly what flashing grey means, i assumed it meant no commander or no ammo, panicked etc basically unable to fight.
There is an AT mod that allows for smaller AT teams.
Retreat, i never retreat so i can't help you lol, maybe why i lose so much. =)
IIRC its in the settings/escape menu but if you retreat from the battle all your troops in that battle retreat back to the start on the operation map, left/right edge depending on where they started at on the operation map and you lose any ground they gained.
Another kicker you cant use those troops again for a certain number of turns, they are unavailable.
So, dont retreat unless you know you are going have your troops all wiped out if you stay and fight, try and retreat a little in the tactical battle map, maybe give ground there first, give up a flag or two before you retreat proper :)
