Controls for my controller is off???

Hi. So i've had costume quest 2 for a few years and I remember having this problem but Idk how to fix it! I'm playing with a PS4 controller and for some odd reason the buttons are all outta wack! An example is that to confirm (which is A on Xbox) it would be Cross but for some reason its Square and so on and so forth. Its happening to all my buttons and I don't know how to fix it. I tried using the x360e thing and its still not working. Please help! I really don't wanna use my keyboard since my hands constantly cramp when i use it for these kinda games. Thank you!

Every game I've played on Steam with a PS4 controller does this - it only provides the Xbox equivalent to the controller buttons, so you just need to remember that A is cross, B is circle, X is box, and Y is triangle
