Helluva game; pity about the publisher
Thank you for kindly taking the time out to reach out, sorry to hear that you encountered trouble with Ubisoft Connect.
To rule out some common causes I have some tips I would advise trying below:
- Try to have both the game and Ubisoft Connect and Steam on the same drive
- Add Ubisoft Connect and the game to your anti-virus/firewall whitelist
- Complete the steps in our dedicated troubleshooting guide [ubi.li]
- Ensure you have Ubisoft Connect [ubi.li] installed and updated
Should you have any further trouble, just let us know and we will be more than happy to help
- epic-store exclusive
- 3rd party account
- easily 50% over-spent on budget (including marketing)
I guess, I should get used to not owning Ubisoft games and Ubisoft should get used to not getting my money.
As a fan of the Sands of Time games and Metroidvanias I wanted to give it a chance and try the demo months ago, but the demo REQUIRES that stupid extra launcher. This is an absolutely brain dead approach and pushes people away from even trying it out. So I didn't try it and also won't buy it on Steam until it is decoupled from that stupid extra launcher.
Having to install software who's job is to deny access to the game unless a non-zero set of checks all pass, each and every time, is mind bu**ery right from the get-go. I mean - why, if we want to play a game, would users want to install manipulative spyware to begin with? It's madness.
Reason is there are many vids on YouTube telling me to install UbisoftConnect manually, then install the game under Ubisoft launcher
Edit:
Reason I asked, is I don't wanna f**k up my SteamDeck if I did it incorrectly or something.
