no retro prince, everyone forgets retro prince
From what i heard their japanese culture consultant was chinese not that there is something wrong with that mind you but, seeing the Torii gate crap Ubisoft pulled i can say either that consultant was unqualified for the job, did not pay enough attention to the job or did it on purpose with malicious intent, no idea why Ubisoft did not reassign the guy at least and just took/eat the loss sooner and apologize.
With that move i would say 99% of the japanese will not buy this game, can't say for sure but the communities i check it's near 100% not buying for this game in Japan, i don't want to assume a full boycott in Japan for this game but it seems likely, Ubisoft should have handled it better.
Bad character design in a trailer that is supposed to sell us the game, is a valid criticism. These companies die, because they cant take such criticism, and shrug everything off as "salty gamers complain about everything, we dont need to listen to them". Character design has always been a large part of movie or game business, when you need to sell your style in short clip.
Thats nice to hear. It was idiotic choice not to have that in the Trailer, though.
At least I only payed 20 bucks for this and the gameplay is solid, otherwise I would have refunded this.
It's crazy how you can imagine how people look from their arts.

I'm not making an argument for realism but instead for a consistent art style/aesthetic. This tired counter argument of "the fantasy setting has fantastical elements in it therefore everyone having blue and pink hair is totally normal" is obtuse on it's face. People who draw false-equivilencies like this can't possibly be acting in good faith but, the sad reality is you probably actually think this is a relevant statement.
