Disgusting DLC that has no continuation of the plot
A poorly put together DLC.
Just complex platforming for the sake of platforming. Aimless DLC that just exists to exist.
It's high time for Ubisoft to reconsider releasing add-ons for story-driven games. It's already kind of sad that the game itself is good, but the story add-on is just for show.
Nothing new or interesting.

I found the DLC platforming to be a step above the main game, with a flow similar to the Trials but without the punishing difficulty. It was very smart of the designers to remove the double-jump (and later movement abilities), as when it's a late upgrade in a metroidvania, it just takes over platforming, forcing every subsequent cliff and gap to increase in scale. No double-jump means more terrain and obstacles on screen, and a premium on whatever can send you upwards.

It was also smart to reset health and amulets, making for a nice change of pace, just what the game needed to shake things up. Along with two new platforming elements, chase sequences, new enemy types, and new amulets that might complement your build. And a great, unforgiving bonus boss! Chunky side content that can be attempted (and that's a challenge) any time during a playthrough is important to round out a metroidvania.

The story doesn't add much, sure, but at least it addresses what happened to Radjen, which was otherwise a plot omission — clearly kept back for the DLC. Still, if somehat wasted, it's a lot of story and characterization, more than most other Immortals get, and some of it adds minor details to Varham, Sargon, etc.

To me, although the game is fine without the DLC, it's made whole by it.
