They already cripple their with another software called uplay/ubisoft connect that they cannot even maintain properly for their older games.
So when you say this, it sounds strange. I'm upset about DRM, but that's not my main issue: it's the Denuvo software itself. I'm not installing a rootkit on my PC. It allows bad actors to do whatever they want. It's like knowingly installing a virus.
I know DRM existed in the past, but the games I purchased only had a CD-key. Further back, none of my floppy games had any sort of copy protection. Only some high-profile games had that.
