It's located in the tundra. Remember when your scent something you can also see the others zones, and it's located not too far from the way which leads to the shelter area.
If my memories are correct, it's supposed to be at the right corner of the map.
I just sat in the cave and had a thorough look at the skeletons; and I think they're actually just prey. The large skeletons at the far back of the cave have the same skull shape as deer do irl, not to mention you can notice legs complete with hooves among the bones.
As for the small skeletons, while I couldn't really see the skull's teeth clearly to see if they were canines or incisors I DID note that the skeletons had very long rear legs and feet. So I'm making my guess that these are rabbit skeletons, not lynx cubs.
However, I also found some other skeletons close to the little stream; not too far from the lake where the dead mammoth is. (From that lake, walk on the left side of the stream and you'll find them pretty quick.) It's a string of about 4 or 5 of those deer skeletons, along with one of the small skeletons closest to the river. If a little one's also there, maybe those little skeletons are the young of whatever that species was, or maybe that one was just an unfortunate rabbit too close to the deer herd when something killed them - be it tiger, wolves, or some natural disaster like an avalanche.
I'm still not sure why the cave gets so eerie and dark though. Maybe it's just the overall sense of melancholy of how so many animals met their fate at the fangs of the tiger - and even now, hundreds of years later, animals are still meeting that same fate at your own fangs.
Or maybe I'm overthinking this way too much.
Or maybe it's where the pack of wolves live ? And in that case, maybe she just feel really ill-at-ease.
Anyway, I like your explanation. c:
I turn volume off when eagle cmes, when being chased by bear, forest fire (I don't even know if that has creepy music lol), and blob. Only sometimes when the wolves attack. It would make sense that the wolves have a den in the tundra, noting that that is the only place they attack (except for at the beginning). They might be angry that you are tresspassing on their territory l:D
