Giant tree

Has anyone else found this? It's huge and the music changes when you walk around it. What's up with it?

Right now it just seems like a special tree to add some flavor to the map and maybe to help you remember which way you're headed. I can only confirm head butting it didn't bring me any giant apples.

I think I know the one you mean, but I haven't found any purpose to it, which made me disappointed since it even showed up on the map.

No not that one. It's in the landmass with the lake, to the south-east of the lake.

As far as I recall, the music becomes much more sinister as you near it, which made me fear a predator attack. I was thinking wolves at the time, but it would also be cool if an eagle swooped down for one of your kits, Shelter 1 style.

have two, one in forest one in den map, they are big and i think if you collect all the oragen leaves this tree will have leaves (someone who dont collect any can confirme to me if your big tree have leaves? check in summer/autumn)

Both of my big trees (I found the other this evening!) have leaves in the appropriate season, and I haven't collected all the leaves.

I came across it today, I think ... The tree I encountered, when I approached it, made a weird music anyway. Sad and sinister at the same time, so I tried to investigate, and nothing ... I wonder what's up with it.
Personaly I think the music changes depending on how the mother lynx perceive the environnement. For a reason or another, this tree upset her. Why ? I don't know. :/

In the area around the tree, my cubs were suddenly quite hungry though. The red one died. I don't know if it's just me, or because of the tree. I don't know why it would kill him though. Probably a simple coincidence. But it made the place more sinister to me ... My cub died not far away from it.

To me the music and the whole atmosphere feels peaceful and meaningful. Meanwhile we know, the game wasnt fully completed as it was released. I think the Tree is part of an event or something special that gets added in the game later.

You mean the biggest tree in the four tree map? Yeah, i've seen it. I noticed it while on the island in the middle of the lake in winter. I got curious after seeing it because the tree was so much different then any other trees out there, so I went over to it. It's easy to see and find during winter on the island because it's so different from the other trees that it just stands out. I wonder why it makes that music, though. Maybe a predatory bird lives up there or something.

The same music plays when you go inside the cave, where there's skeletons everywhere - probably lynx's.
So I don't think it's meant to be a peaceful place. There's something wrong, but we don't know what.

I think I've seen that cave before. I'm not exactly sure if there's something wrong though because there is a whole lot of caves with creepy music that I've encountered. But I did think that the song sounded a bit familiar. I might revisit the tree and cave later to see if the songs really do match up. If it does mean that somethings going to live there in a future update that could be dangerous, then just another reason to avoid that place, as whenever I go to the lake area I usually get lost and the rivers always block where I want to go and causes my cubs to starve. Worse, from what I hear the blob enters there as well. I doubt it really means anything though, because the music on the island in the lake is pretty creepy as well as a ton of other secret places. Who knows, maybe the music is just a way to show that you've found something cool instead of danger.

The only really creepy place I know is this cave full of skeletons. It's horrible to see that there's dead animals from your specie. :/
About the tree, maybe the update will bring something more to it. A new predator, or something wrong happening here ... Who knows. Maybe there's a chance to see wolves there at one point or another ?

About the island in the middle of the lake, yeah, definitly creepy too. Not only because of the music, but also because ... well ... first, what's up with the trees ? Most of them are uprooted here. Second, my cubs freak out -really, there's always one who's scared and won't move until I pick it up- just in front of a uprooted tree, where there is a nest they can't access. About the nest, it's a little strange there is one in winter, no ? Oh, and also, the blob comes from this island.
