How to survive wolf attacks with all your cubs (SPOILERSSSS)
SPOILERS WARNINGGG. Also, possible bossy sounding warning. This whole discussion is just a suggestion. Now, that said, read onwards, fellow Steamer!

Alright, as we all know, the game starts with you being chased by wolves, mkay? Eventually at the end of this scene, you leap up a ledge and escape them. This is a MAAAAJOR hint on how to survive the attacks from wolves you will sometimes experience when in the snowflake area. Now I am just guessing some of you have trouble with these, some of you are probably confused as to what I am talking about! But just to sum it up, here ya go:
Snowflake area, big field-y place that has lots of deer herds and rabbits to hunt. Also plenty of ledges to jump up onto. Sometimes, it will grow dark, the music will take a twist with deep, drum based music and the tell tale howling of a wolf in the distance. If you wait too long, there will be barking, growling and bulky wolf like shapes charging toward you! Now your first reaction would probably be to run like crazy, but this is probably the worst thing you can do seeing as your cubs aren't as fast as you and you can only carry one. (Unless you only have one that is! Then by all means, grab him and run for cover. I haven't experemented with this yet so tell me the results!) But sadly, I don't think this will get you anywhere good and the first time you had wolves chasing you, you probably lost a cub. </3 I did too. But now I know how to beat these canines so I will now share my secret with you!
Remember the ledge that saved your short, stubby little lynx tail in the begining of the game? Well ledges are about to save your- and your cubs!- Once again! The thing to do when you see it getting dark, also the thing to do RIGHT away when you arrive in snowflake, juuust in case, is flee to the nearest ledge and leap up onto it. Don't worry about your cubs, they will magically teleport up behind you after a moment or two. After this, if you just arrived, wait a minute or two before sliding down off the ledge. This is only if you just arrived in the area. If you just hopped up on the ledge because it got dark, stay up there! The wolves are comingggg... Okay now if you got up on the ledge and your kits came up behind you, the wolves should arrive soon, running in and barking and snarling at you. When they do, don't panic! Stay on the ledge and be careful not to slip off of your safe havean. After you wait a bit longer, the wolves will inclose around your ledge and continue to bark and snarl at you. Just wait until you hear another howl and your mother lynx stopps hissing and starts meowing again. When this happens, the wolves will leave and it will be safe to come down. You can come down way before the wolves leave, I'm pretty sure. I tested this and even ran alongside the wolves as they fled back to the edge of the map, so I am quite sure it's safe. Please do correct me if I'm wrong and if they do end up turning around and chasing you back to your ledge, I AM SOOO SORRYYY </3

Okay so now you know how I escape the wolf attacks! I reaaally hope this will help you in the future when building up your family tree of lynxes c: I am SOOO sorry if this didn't help you :c I wish I could give you back the time it took to read this </3
Either way, thank you so much for reading this. Feel free to make a comment/correct me on anything wrong I said and I will make haste to correct it.
Thanks again! ~<3

Oh, and another helpful tip! With the current build of the game it seems the wolves only attack Once per 'entry' to the Snowflake area! So once you enter it, you're guaranteed an attack but no more! (Unless you quit the game, when the game reloads it counts as 'reentering' the area so get ready for a runner and stay near ledges after getting back into the game!

I never even thought of this! Thank you so much!

I think it could be more challenging if you had to carry all cubs on the ledge in your jaws. :D

Apparently you can also leave a rabbit to them to prevent them from attacking you, when they start chasing you !

The wolves come two times a year, in the start of spring (normally), the end of Autumn (sometimes), and end of winter (normally)

"Cubs can’t jump up on cliffs themselves" - this means that cubs won't magically teleport to rocks in hard mode. And another note probably hints, that in hard mode you could encounter wolves anywhere... and this is really scary: "Animals migrate to different zones based on seasons".

I was thinking about preys, not wolves, but that would make sense ... Even though ... It means that we're basically ♥♥♥♥♥♥ outside the tundra. We can't hide anywhere - unless they allow the lynx to climb on trees. :/

I like the ledge thing as a defence. It would be cool if you could kill a deer or something and then leave it to attract the wolves. I think i would like to be able to intimiodate them; with lots of growling and howling and displays of power. but maybe thats only an aesthetic thing.
i love the it im never EVER GOING IN TO HARD MODE I DID IT ONEC AND I EMIDEY DIED LOL
I DID DIE FRUM DUMB WOLFS SAME AS MY KITTENS

Isn't this the only way to escape wolf attacks? I've never heard of a second method

You can kill a rabbit, take it, go to the wolves, drop it, and they eat it and leave you alone. Hope this helps!!!

Wat. You mean that some people here didn't do that from the start? Like woot........ Or am I just a hidden genius? Cuz like.. I went to the Tundra, hunted a bit, ran around a bit and suddenly night just fell on ours asses. I didn't even have time to react. Like 10 wolves apearred out of thin air and started chasing us. It was my first thought to jump on that pillar. Haven't lost a single cub.. Haven't lost a single kitten yet, that is. Am I really safe? Cuz I'm paused out, but in-game I'm sitting on this pillar and looking the internet for answers. WHAT DO I DO? Should I wait? Or do I risk it for a biscuit and try to get home asap?
