Dealing with Foxes

I'm playing the Shelter 2 Mountains DLC and I'm currently being tracked by a fox. He's waiting for one of my cubs to fall behind, but whenever I draw near him to attack, he runs (he's much faster than I am). Is there a solution for a fox who follows a lynx family around?
I can't attack him, I can't leave him behind (because if I run too fast one of my cubs will fall behind), and my cubs are in danger
Do I wait for him to come close to my cubs when I'm farther ahead so I can attack then?

Nevermind, I chased it and it didn't run - thus, I killed it. Problem solved!

Also, if it grabs a cub, it will run, but it will be slower. Thus you can kill it then. Though my tactic it to grab my favorite cub and run 😂

Haha, but who can have a favorite when they're all great? :D So it's like the eagle, I suppose.

I always try to kill it before it grabs one, but it's difficult.

If you have full stamina you can chase it down without a cub.

the two solutions i know of are to wait for it to grab a cub, as when it tries to flee it will be weighed down and slowed, a quick yet risky method. another solution is to keep running at it, then wait for it to come back and chase it again. after about 4 to 5 tries, it will run off for good

foxes are flippin annyoing my first time with the dlc and the very first thing i see is the gosh dang fox. i couldnt chase it away, it kept coming back. i couldnt kill it, its too fast. eventually it got one of my fave cubs, my white one Sky qwq i had no stamina to chase after it and i lost her. T^T then in the end of summer, i saw another fox (it has to be the same one who took Sky >:( ) and was like "heck no ur not getting another one!" so i got an idea, and chased it towards the river in the home tree area, and made it go in the river. It couldnt walk in the water so it turned back-then i drowned owo but i know i k8illed it since when i woke up my cubs were fed. all three had blood on their faces and the fox was gone. I felt very avenged for Sky. PLEASE DONT UNDERESTIMATE THE FOX OWO

you can just keep chasing it the fox is not faster then you but you just don't catch up to it instantly

Foxes stop tracking you after ~five unsuccessful attempts. Hissing doesn't scare them, so don't bother.

However, you can wait for the fox to come close enough and then charge towards it. You will learn how close you need to be with experience. It's rather possible to get them this way -- at least I always do.

I just chase them down. You don’t need full stamina either. I’m able to get them on half stamina no problem!

What I like to do is hiss, and then chase it around while using scent view to not lose it, but it takes a lot of practice to do this, and when it comes back, I'll usually rest with my cubs until I see it and then I'll run after it, sometimes it just turns around too late so I can get it in time. And if ur cubs haven't eaten in a while, and they're not eating the fox, no problem, just meow to them and they'll come and eat it! :D

make a trap. back away from your cubs and when it comes closer jump on it. this is how i kill them. hope this helps :]

Just keep chasing it off three times works but it scares me

if you're good at chasing animals, let it grab a cub, then run after it (because then the fox will be slower if it has a cub) then you can kill it.

If I'm correct, if you walk towards the fox three different times it'll flee without a cub, and if it does grab one it's just like chasing a deer. Foxes are really easy to deal with from what I've seen and I've dealt with quite a few!
