no. just, no. micro-transactions on a soulless game.

The game feels clumsy, not at all like what was depicted in the trailers. More importantly, the necessity of a third-party Ubisoft account here creates additional problems and is just plain annoying.

The game is made for multiplayer. I bought this game to play it as singleplayer. The only way to play singleplayer is by playing 1 vs 1 games. Come on! I want to play a huge game with lots of AI players, but that is not possible. I don't have time to play multiplayer. I consider myself lucky if I'm able to play 30 minutes without interruption.
The AI in the game is also very dumb. Good luck getting them to build up an army. All they do is build up a few soldiers, but once you have defeated them, they will not build any more soldiers, even though you don't destroy any of their buildings

The game also contains no randomized maps. It only comes with a few select maps. I saw earlier it was mentioned the reason for this is the landmarks they have put in the game. Those landmarks are places where if you do something, you get something. For example some places they could give you some stones if you give them a hammer. These landmarks in my opinion just makes the game worse. Please feel free to remove them from the game, to make the game more fun

One thing I always loved about some of the earlier Settlers games was the exploration. Not knowing how the map looked like or where you could put what kind of mine is one of the important parts of the game series. Here you know from the start where everything is. There's nothing left to explore

I also hate the fact that food production is not as important as it used to be. In the old Settlers games, you couldn't mine anything, if you didn't have a good food production. Here food production just gives you a bonus

On the positive side, it does look great

As already said in many other reviews: not a Settlers game, not worth the full price.
It's just a fighting game now (which is apparently called a RTS).
I'm at the level 3 or 4 of the campaign and this is why I'm so disappointed, after years of waiting for a new edition of The Settlers:
- the only focus for the player is to raise military units as big and as fast as possible.
- resources management has almost disappeared from the game, economy and basic needs (food chain, etc) are not that important to maintain your colony happy or efficient.
- The depth and complexity of the previous Settlers is clearly missing

It looks like all the dev efforts were put on making new awesome graphics.
Because honestly, this is the only positive thing I can mention about this version of "The Settlers": it's a very pretty but empty shell. Bummer!

At least I got it on sale..I still can't figure out how Ubisoft can justify its full price tho.
This game will just stay in a corner of my Steam library, collecting dust while I play Pioneers of Pagonia.

game asks for cd key with out given you one, love how aaa company's can not even sell a game on steam with out ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up.

Requires a CD key but doesnt give you one when you buy the game so dont waste your time or money

Well, I tried. I liked very much the visuals from trailers, but the game is not playable without internet. It just won't start a SINGLEPLAYER campaign when you have no connection to the internet. This is a deal breaker for me. Requested a refund.

Frustrating and needless Ubisoft account constantly needs linking and logins. Micro transactions and Ubisoft BS as usual. Sad as bits looked like it was interesting.

Thanks to the usual UBISoft crap you cannot even play this game when you have no internet connection. Great design choice.
