Options: turn off music

I am hard of hearing and having background music makes it harder for me to hear the words. Can I turn off the music?

You can turn it off in the options menu.

I tried to turn off the music in the options menu, but mine does not offer the choice. It is important to me, too. I love playing the game, but would like to turn the music down or off. Thank you for any help you can offer.

UPDATE: Never mind. I figured it out. Am using a MacBook Air, and the instructions seem different. I had to hit "Esc" while the game is running, and it brings up an options menu with a "Sound" choice. I turned it way down but not all the way off. If you want it off that is an option, too.
