Also, I have a question about the suggestions, are any of the ideas (as in locations and such) in the plan to be implemented at some point?
I've been playing Influent for a little while, and I really like it so far, however, as I've been experimenting with many other ways to learn Swedish, I've noticed some very usefull tricks other educating platforms use. Here are some, that would greatly benefit this game.
- Use words in a sentence. Provide a dialogue with a missing word perhaps, where players find the related object.
- Make verb learing more interactive. When I'm in time attack with a verb like "cleaing" as the next word, I'd really love it if I'd actually have to clean something with my character to be marked as correct. Maybe the task could be very specific, like "clean the oven" and the player would have to walk up to the oven and use a cloth to wipe some dirt off of it.
- Make us type those foreign words so we could memorize them better. Make us say them to get the pronounciation right.
- Place an NPC in the room and make him/her interactive to establish a dialogue and teach the player about phrases. Record sentences in the foreign language for every object and make him/her remark on them with these simple example sentences, like "we wash ourselves clean with the soap" or "children like to play with toys like that". Maybe give her the ability to play the time attack game with us using simple commands instead of just words, like "find the cat!" or "where's the pillow?" this will not only expand the vocabulary, but teach complete phrases.
On the other hand, I really hope you plan on expanding this great game. I'd love to see several other locations related to transportation, recreation, night life, health care, outdoors, or simply a suburban area around the apartment's exterior.
Thanks for your consideration!
I was about to make more suggestions but it seem all are covered XD
I would like to see some more rooms or locations... and of course icelandic as a language
1) a single key e.g. 2 that mirrors the mouse d-click for timeatack etc
2) option too turn off cursor center on long mousekey press
It would be awesome if the game had options to learn parts of the body.Like if you could press tab, and be able to learn the words for eyes, arms, legs etc etc.
Also,it would be cool if the eggs on the fridge were a bit more accessible. They're kind of hard to click on.
Thank you!

+ Outside of a house / garden area

+ School
+ Bar / pub
I wouldn't mind the vocab overlap in some of the locations.
