A Rant on the Bangstick

WHY IS THIS A LATE TIER UNLOCK?! Im sorry but cmon guys. The bangstick is extremely hard to use. Yes it's instakill but actually getting the chance to pull off the stunt is what makes this weapon so inneffective. Unless ur facing against a bad shark, u cant do Jack with this thing. If it was an earlier unlock it would be understandable since ur facing against fellow noobs but against skilled sharks this weapon is completely useless. Good sharks dart in and out of places in the span of a couple of seconds. How are u supposed to get up in the sharks faced without it swimming away at Mk5 or getting urself eaten. Yes u can say that u can stab the shark while it's eating ur buddy but by the time u get up to the shark it already killing your freind and ran off. This should be an early tier not a late tier unlock END OF STORY.

Its pretty weak early on if you have bad positioning due to its range but when you combine it with the netgun (Assuming you can aim) which you can purchase after the first safe and you have a insanely powerful early combo that lasts until you can afford a harpoon. A whole team using these is even worse for sharks as with 4 nets you aren't going anywhere.

I think its about right, 1 hit kill that you can get from the start of the match? It should be unlocked late. And its very effective if you get good at it. Especially if you got a net gun. Also I believe a dev mentioned earlier that they would fix a couple bugs with it to make it more effective.

I have come across players who were damn good at using the bang stick. I actually had to modify my game play to win the match. They would dpv around to me and then bang me. So I had to be much more on the watch for tricky divers.

I have seen people be very good with it, personally I don't like how a diver in my mouth can survive when their buddy blows me up... What is the friendly splash damage (if any)?
One tactic I've seen used is when a shark is damaging walls, etc, to swim out another way and chase the shark since breaking down the environment uses up so much stamina. I've been caught several times by a diver out swimming me easily because I have no stamina and then boom! Not to mention since you can get it at the start of a match its halfway decent at saving buddies.
This coming from the viewpoint of a shark, I haven't used it at all myself.

Imagine how many more "Game is hard" complaints we'd see if it was available as a starting weapon

It's a niche/gimmick item that requires you to have a solid understanding of how the game works

Ok, being the person who has over 1k bang under his belt, imo the bang stick takes what u know about depths and throws it out the window (with the exception of treasures, steve being a ♥♥♥♥, sharks, etc...). It's an entirely different principle of approaching the gam. Usually, as a diver, you want to distance yourself as far as possible while maintaining a line of sight. With the bang stick this is total opposite, your only way of killing a shark would be to touch it with your stick. Lots of times this results in misses or just completely out of range and the shark eating your legs while your screaming at the game "I HIT THAT SHARK". So yea, it's a noob trap.

PS: I appologise for all those players who had their hopes up for getting the bangstick... It's a terrible weapon despite my ability of looking like a master.... I'm not...

Diver gods just go with the harpoon. No explosive harpoon bs. Pure harpoon. Same effect as the bang stick in 85% of cases, but ranged. Raw manly harpoon.

Honestly I love the Bangstick and I think it is perfectly placed towards the end of the unlock Queue. Shameless self promotion INC, I am not amazing at the game id say fairly average and the bangstick was easily the most fun I've had, it is so radically different from hiding in rooms until you get a 'poon. So good.

well u can always use a dvp to chase the sharks back and kill it if u good with dvps

My biggest gripe atm with the bangstick is it royally pisses people off....people hate losing a head to head match against a diver. Against new people, its gotta be the most likely thing to make them rage quit.
Nothing beats the satisfaction though of dodging sharks in open water, 1v1 with just your pokey stick landing the death blow as they lunge at you. Its like being Neo against Agent Shark-Anderson ("You're telling me I can dodge sharks? No diver...I'm telling you when you're ready, you won't have to.")

I personally hate the bangstick as even as a great white it's an ista-kill, for those experienced divers it makes the game exceptionally difficult because when there is lag I can start chewing on someone then have them stab me in the face with a bangstick even with the active juggernaut ability
