Does the game support playing in offline-mode over LAN? I would like to play with some friends but at our location we can't use an internet connection.

We do support Steam offline mode, but not multiplayer in offline mode.

I know this is old, but I'M TIRED OF THIS. My wife and I play LAN often. We travel and we play LAN when there's no internet connection. Maybe because I'm older than most, but it makes no sense to me. When I buy a game, I want LAN.

LAN stands for local Wireless Network
which means you still need to be connected to some network. (ethernet or internet)

LAN stands for Local Area Network. You do NOT need to be connected to the internet.
