Tips for goblin?
I play a lot of shark, and for the most part I can do decently as each, but the one shark I still fail to understand is goblin. I've tried looking for videos/guides to help me get better at this shark but for all my efforts, I mostly end up trading kills or getting a lucky double/triple if the divers don't have medkits. What evolutions should I get? Or is the recommended build good, and if so how can I go in without getting mowed down? Usually I find that divers just wait for the goblin to grab someone then save the diver and heal them with a medkit, either totally ignoring the clones or shooting them once before realizing its the fake and switching focus to me. Any pro-tips would be appreciated!

Vitalized Frenzy > Killer Instinct and kill seals the entire match.
It's the only way to play goblin.

I've done that before and its pretty funny, but I'm not gonna win any matches or snag any divers just eating my fill of seals for 10~ minutes

Goblin is by far the worst shark in the game. that said, its pretty good, the others are just much better.

Goblin is really just a good open water shark and that's all it does. Your best bet for getting kills is to remember you have to sprint with a diver in your jaws to work out well. Your bite box is very generous on the goblin.

Blindside is really great on goblin because it helps make this less awful for you because you can lunge from one entrance and line yourself up to sprint out another, or catch a diver who is a little further away by surprise.

Also practicing with the lemon also helps. It works like goblin on easy mode.

DO NOT waste evo points on its ability. It's not reliable enough for you to waste the points.

Goblin is a shark that benefits greatly from double time, and thus sprinting into right click can be really good for saving stam and securing kills. Dragging people with sprint out of a room = pro status.

The clone doesn't die unless killed, so activate a clone the second you spawn so you can hit them with 2 clones by the time you get there.

Vary how often you go in first vs your clone so they don't learn your pattern. Also, try too coordinate an attack between your clone, yourself and your teammate for max effect.

I disagree with the player above, and I think its beneficial to pick up tier 2 of the goblin ability, the difference between killing a clone in ONE SHOT vs many is drastically beneficial.

And yeah I second v frenzy and killer instinct.

Level two is fine and I will pick it up occasionally but it should not be picked up until you have at least dt and blood feast first. A clone surviving a few hits isnt very useful unless you can actually go in and make it out alive first and foremost.

I personally find goblin's gameplay ends up being way too slow to be viable if you actually try attacking based on your clones. Just go for any opening you can, spam clones as often as possible, you dont necessarily have to go in while the clone is on it's way or just went in. They're not convincing as players, but they are a distraction, so honestly just try to keep away from your clones.

I know the clones seem cool but you really dont want to rely on them. They are pretty terrible in most situations and the only one I find consistent use of clones in is when divers try to open water you because the noise the clone makes helps cover up your own. In a room, they can pop very easily without the diver ever knowing it was there, and with how long the cooldown is it's not worth the wait.

Also, clones can also die if their target dies or they get close to the target. Try not to let a clone go if you have a diver in your jaws because they will almost always target that diver and die as soon as you kill the diver.

Blood Feast will only help you to return faster to fight if you already happen to survive, it won't raise much the chance of survival except maybe from poison and a few chaser situations.

but if you got Vita Frenzy you can use the clones as distraction to ensure a kill AND use it as decoy when fleeing in one go.

I'm not sure myself which one is better in the end but by your own logic clones are still better, no?

My winning matches as gobo are like this:

1. Only pick it when I have a decent team mate.
2. Never charge in first. Let team mate and clones do it.
3. ALWAYS spam ability.
4. Evo: Ability lv2 => Vitalized Frenzy => Killer Instinct. If I can get more kills, then ability lv3 + Double Time. The rest is situational.
5. Kill seals and spam ability again and again. Keep the army of clones coming.
6. Go for cleaning up when at least one diver has been killed.
7. Occasionally attack S.T.E.V.E to buy time. If possible, Headstrong is your friend.

The decoys die in only three or four bullets even at max level, vf spam doesnt work very well because of that, and spear weapons counter them hardcore because they will pass right through into you.

I personally pick goblin when my teammate sucks ass because the divers usually will be cockier and thus easy gobbo kills.

It's not the worst shark, bunch of heretics.

Vit frenzy by itself is pretty nice, get in and a get a kill = +1 illusion.
Another thing is try to behave like a bot, like those crazy spasms the bot does, I've made people not shoot me a few times because they thought I was a illusion.
Also try to switch up, some times let the illusion go first and others you go first and then you just spam illusions for some time.
From a diver perspective the best goblin sharks co-ordinate their attacks with their team mate. Having four sharks enter the safe room simultaneously is a problem especially if the bots don't pop at a single shot. Goblins are also fast attackers in open water but even then Makos and Threshers are worse.

S.x.
