Using models from Live2D Library in FaceRig
Hello!

Here are some guidelines for using models from Live2D Library in FaceRig (not linking it directly because it's NSFW, but you can google it by typing "live2d library").

  • Download the model data.
  • If the downloaded content is a .zip file, unzip it.
  • If the downloaded data contains a .moc file (usually in a folder named "moc" or "runtime"), just place the containing folder in SteamApps/Common/Facerig/Mod/VP/PC_CustomData/Objects. You need to rename the folder name as the .moc file is named. For example, if the .moc file is named model.moc, the folder should be named also model. (We are considering to make the models work even if folder name is different from .moc file name in a future update, probably next week.)
  • If the downloaded data does not contain a .moc file, only a .cmox file, then you should open it in Cubism Modeler and export a .moc file (File > Export .moc File). Keep in mind that some models are created with Pro Edition of Cubism Modeler so if you are using the Free version it won't let you export the .moc file until you make some changes to the model (simplyfing it, removing some motion parameters or deformers)
  • We recommend to read the licensing of each model before using it. Check the Works information on each item's page (the Table on the right side) and the readme.txt file in the archive downloaded (if it exists).

If you still have issues in making the models work in FaceRig, you can take a look in our Live2D Documentation[drive.google.com] to make sure the data corresponds to our specifications.

Also before you get too giddy, it is just very *mildly* NSFW ( some may even consider it safe actually ) :), yet we want to be extra careful with what we link on Steam :).

The truth remains that a butt avatar is there (a very tame butt yet a butt nevertheless) and controlling a butt avatar with my face expression is not something I thought I'd start my morning with ... not even for tech compatibility testing purposes :P . If I am allowed a pun : The word "butthead" was suddenly put in a new light :P .

i tried this way over 10x already, but still the same results....
Is it because i haven't update my facerig?

You do need the most recent version of FaceRig on Steam with the Live2D module installed for the above to work.
I made it at last. Before making it, I did as told in this post and what I found was 2 outcomes.

1st - Facerig crashed with Access Violation error or something.
2nd - No crash, but showing blank background.

This is what I've done. I downloaded sample model from Live2D website (most plain looking girl model). Export it to .moc. Put it into the directory given in this post. Run Facerig.

The trick is when exporting the model, make sure you check that Vector export or something. With that option checked, you will get 3 files, moc, json and a folder containing texture_00. I tried to put the files togather and edit the json, but it resulted in crashes. So, don't bother. Just export it right and the model will work.

Make sure you export for v.2.0 too.
I cannot find Live2D Library. Google gives no results for such a thing that gives models.
The version of Live2D/Cubism I'm using (4.0.00) exports as a .moc3 file.
From one character I've gotten the following files: A .json file, a cdi3.json file, .moc3 file, a .cmo3 file. Are all of these files necessary? I also have a texture atlas produced.
I have put all these in the directory described in the documentation on google drive but nothing is showing up. The only thing showing is the icon in the avatar select screen.

Any ideas?

Send the avatar to us, at info[@]facerig[.]com and I'll take a look at it. Mention this Steam thread so I know to whom the model belongs.

You're right, because the site is discontinued. Instead it was replaced by https://nizima.com, basically a marketplace to sell Live2D creations. That should have been stated in the OP.
I have a model that runs in the application, but all the textures appear as pure black. Is there a fix for this? What did I do wrong?

1. Are there any spaces in your model files or folders?
2. What size is the texture atlas?

I’m in a pickle, I keep getting this black silhouette when I try to upload on my model on facerig. I named my folder model and such. This was a commission model by the way so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

I have the model3.Json. I’m just a bit stuck may someone help me?

Could you send an imgur album with screenshots of:
1. Your Objects folder
2. Inside your model folder
3. Inside your texture folder
I have my model downloaded as a moc.3 file, ive put it in the aforementioned folder but only a question mark shows up when i go to select avatar. Anything I've done wrong?
