rightclick facerig in your libarary>properties>local files>browse local files.
This is most likely because an application is trying to access the FaceRig camera feed while another has its hold on it.
Make sure another application isn't grabbing the FaceRig virtual camera feed :) If you are using software like ManyCam or something similar, make sure it doesn't have Facerig selected as an input device.
Tiny bit of background information to go with this as to WHY:
Camera's, even virtual one's like the one FaceRig uses, have the limitation that only ONE program at a time can access it, locking out any other programs, and so giving out only a black feed. That is the entire reason that programs like manycam exist: The grab the feed from the camera and then spawn "copies" of the webcam feed, so that other programs then can use it (one program per copy of course)
If you want to find what program is using your facerig webcam, take a look here[superuser.com].
i closed all the programs that use the webcam and i stil get the black screen
have you also already tried this and the first 2 steps in the upper post?
yes i tried all of it
In addition to this, please also provide us with the VP.log so we can take a closer look. Here's how to find the log http://steamcommunity.com/app/274920/discussions/2/34096318703798146/
P.S. check which button you press on these forums and what it says below the textbox, ok? :D Though I was pretty amused to have one of our moderators reported ^^
2. Make sure that FaceRig and any programs possibly using a webcam (like Skype) are shut down (for skype, make sure to ectually quit the program, and not have it just running in the background.
3. Go to <steam install folder>\steamapps\common\facerig\bin and find the four .bat files starting with uninstall (there are 8 in total) and for each one separately, right-click them and select "run as administrator" even if you are already an administrator on your PC.
4. Restart your PC
5. Make sure that all webcam-using programs are still off (aka, Skype doesn't auto-start or is shut down again)
6. Go back to the folder you were in before, and go in the sub-folder prerequisites\FaceVirtualCamDriver
7. There, right-click the .exe that fits your OS (if you have windows 10, use the windows 8 one) and select "run as administrator"
8. Now you should be able to both see and use the right webcam.
