Which AV are you actually using (I know you said you excluded steam / facerig, but still interested)
Could you try to see if switching to DirectX9 mode helps (you can do this from the launcher, go down to the settings, switch to DX9 and try launching again.
( quick note: the devs / mods are from europe, so you probably won't get any more replies for a couple of hours, since I / we are off to bed
Just before bed, maybe I can offer a workaround, but we need to understand what actions have you taken prior to this crash... like, maybe modding Danny? It seems that a texture couldn't be loaded (which would not lead to a crash, but I think there's something else that may cause the crash).
If you modded Danny (either used a script/installer made by the community, or it's your creation), I suggest going to <steamInstallDir>\steamapps\common\FaceRig\Mod\VP\ and delete de contents of the following folders: PC_Datacache and PC_dx11_datacache. This will make the community avatars (and modded ones) load a little bit longer at first, but subsequent loading times will be much shorter.
If Danny the custom skin (the one FaceRig is loading when it crashes) is the vanilla, unaltered one, then maybe some data has been corrupted, and I suggest verifying data integrity of the app and deleting the PC_Datacache and PC_dx11_datacache would also help.
If that doesn't help, you could try deleting the save file (basically a manual revert to defaults). To do that, go to Documents\Holotech\FaceRig\UserCfg\ folder and delete config.usc.
Keep us posted on your progress.
