FaceRig on Skype tutorial

This is a quick tutorial on how to use FaceRig on Skype.

1. Launch FaceRig
2. Click on toggle broadcast
3. Launch Skype
4. Click on Tools
5. Click on Video settings under General options
6. Click on Select webcam
7. Choose FaceRig Virtual Cam
8. Click on Save

Then you're good to go.

PS. Can anyone please make a tutorial on how to use FaceRig on Omegle or Chatroullete?

NOTE: if you have a 32 bit machine, you need to use the 32 bit version of the .bat files, not the 64 as said in that post!

Hi

My Skype for Desktop (Windows 8) always crashed down when its started. Doesn t matter if Facerig is running or not. After deinstall Facerig Skype is working properly. Where is the mistake?

FaceRig and skype modern ( for windows 8) are not compatible.
FaceRig only works for now with the desktop version of skype.


If for some reason the FaceRig Virtual webcam causes issues on your system, and you do not want to use the virtual webcam ( with chat applications) , but you still want to use Facerig to make movies for YouTube and stream via OBS window capture mode, then you can simply un-register the FaceRig Virtual webcam by using the provided un-register bat files in the Facerig/Bin folder.

However the only case where the Virtual Webcam would cause issues ( to the best of our knowledge) , is if , for some reason, you keep the old version of it ( the one without 32 or 64 at the end) installed on your system.
We will further investigate this.

hey, I tried to do everything you said, but it still doesn't work for me... Skype can't run when Facerig is installed... I don't know if you understand what I said, but if you could help me, it would be nice of you :')

FaceRig doesn't broadcast sound by itself just yet. If you want to use it in things like Skype, for now you'll have to use this guide (which I btw linked a couple of posts up too):

I tried using facerig in a skype video call, and it says problem with playback device. It worked fine a few days ago. I can't make the call, it always fails, until I close Facerig. I made sure to double check the steps.

umm why is it that every time I use FaceRig on Skype it's all negitive?

If you mean the colors are inverted, then go to general options and select Swap stream colors.

Is there an order in which we need to install the programs in? I've had skype for a year now and just downloaded face rig. I'm on windows 7 and skypes menu for webcams won't drop down.
