I shouldn't have to use a second program to do something that doesn't seem to be a problem in general. As you even stated "FaceRig works only with a one-camera set-up." Which to me should mean that once the camera is selected it shouldn't matter if there are others in the computer. The others should work for other purposes.
(If you have other previous scenes in which you tried the setup, clear them and make a new one.)
1. Create a Scene.
2. In "Sources" I added a Video Capture Device. I selected the FaceRig Virtual Camera from the "Device" drop-down list (make sure that the Broadcasting option is ON in FaceRig).
3. Add another Video Capture Device, in the same scene. This time select your other camera that is not used by FaceRig.
Let me know how it goes.
Closed down FaceRig, made new scene and selected just the Cat Camera WebCam, it loads in fine
