C920 keeps flickering
As the title says in facerig my c920 keeps flickering and the avatar looses tracking.

I have as per another thread set the fps to 30 in advanced options it did not help the c920 problem but it made much smoother avatar movements and video which is a bonus!

I decided to just try the cam by itself in OBS it was flickering but I set the resolution to 1280x720 and the flickering stopped so I am extremely baffled why its doing this in facerig if it helps any,
I did originally have windows 10 installed and it worked perfectly but I had to reformat and lost my key so I am on windows 7 now.

I would appreciate some help bringing me back to sanity and fixing this but then again what is sane? j/p but yea forrealz this is bugging me I havent streamed and have been wanting to finish a playthrough I started any help is appreciated thanks!.

try setting to 25 fps, might be 50 hz vs 60 hz fluorescent light issue

I have a Logitech c170 webcam, and I found that by default that under the Properties in the Advanced Camera Control, the Low Light Compensation box is checked, and it makes the webcam a bit "choppy", or perhaps what you might call "flickering". So when I un-check that option, it becomes much smoother (the flickering is gone) and I then also get a better tracking performance using it with FaceRig.

From your Logitech Webcam Software (which you should hopefully already have installed, if not go and download it from their site), open up the Webcam Controller, go into the Advanced Settings, in the Properties box that should appear go to the Camera Control tab and ensure that the Low Light Compensation box is un-checked. After that see if things are improved.

Keep in mind though that if you do un-check it, then you will want to have some good lighting in your room accordingly (for me I have a lamp light overhead that seems to work well) so your face will show clearly.
Also, it seems that every time I re-start my computer, that the Low Light Compensation option is automatically re-checked again (it doesn't seem to remember it), so I need to remember to go in and un-check that option each time my computer reboots if I plan on using my webcam.

Good luck.

I just reformatted again back to windows 10 finally got my cd to work properly so if it does it again upon reinstalling it ill try you're solution and see what kind of difference it makes.

Like I had said it never did this prior it worked like a charm it was only after reinstalling back to windows 7 I had the issues.

Thanks for the tip!!!

I avoid flourescent lights like the plague I am a ham radio operator and they are severly notorious for frequency interference but if I have issues again I'll mess with the fps and see if it changes it.

Thanks!
