Framerate keep droping to 30FPS while recording with FRAPS
Hi,
so far I found few bugs but the most anoyinng one is this. After a while of recording gameplay with FRAPS frame rate drops from 60FPS to 30FPS. It make me keep restarting game all over again.
My specs:
i7-920, 6GB, GTX260

Any advice?

It is the v-sync that switches from 60 to 30 if the FPS drops below 60. If your computer cannot record at stable 60, it would be better to record at 30 from the beginning.

I expected this answer. Developers from Nadeo used to say that too. But how can you explain that framerate at the beggining isn't 60 stable. It fluctuate 57-61FPS and then it drops to 30. Not immediately a few sec later or few minutes later.
Anyway. Is there anyway to turn v-synch off?

dont use fraps, drops your framerate while recording.

I am not expert here but i just tried few other games vith v-synch on and non of theme did these perma drops from 60->30fps. And it happends to me even while playing and no recording.
So from my lame point of view it's hard to believe that this malicious v-synch cause it just in JCS.

Have you tried turning off motion blur?

I turned off every graphical improvement. Even tried to force v-synch off in nv control panel before I started this thead

The v-sync is implemented that if the game sees that your computer cannot do stable 60, the FPS is dropped to 30, instad of constantly switching between 60 and 30.

The graphics may seem simplistic, but the game still requires some horsepower to run 60 and especially if you are recording.

Noone wants to be swithed between 60 and 30FPS. It's really twisted and unjustifiable to force as play in 30FPS if our PC aren't capable to render game in constant 60FPS. Just let as play without v-synch if can't be implemented otherway. Such nonsence is maybe acceptable on Android but not on PC.
Again I am not talking only about recording. It happens even in normal playing.

Anyway, I have finished game and such improvement would be for those who yet not discovered this wonderfull game. Hopefully sale are good enough to see sequel or atleast some of those features we miss.

i was just going to post about this, my game goes to 30fps all of a sudden. the game runs fine in 60 but it definatly drops down for remainder of race?

It goes to 30fps for me sometimes after I turned on the steam overlay and then go back to the game. When I restart the game it is back to normal.
You might want to turn off Windows Aero and see if that makes a difference (select a "basic" or "classic" windows theme).
Another point of consideration is heat issues in laptops, which might reduce the framerate after some minutes of playing, too. But that's probably not the case here, and certainly not in my case (desktop NV GTX 560 Ti)
